The Long Version offers online psychological therapy for adults across Australia. Appointments take place via secure video consultation, allowing you to access therapy from a private, comfortable location.
You'll need a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
-
I work with adults aged 18 and over, supporting people experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, stress, burnout, grief, life transitions and relationship difficulties.
You can read more about my areas of practice on the Psychology Services page.
-
Finding a psychologist you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory call before booking your first appointment. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you're looking for, ask questions and consider whether working together might be a good fit.
If your needs would be better supported by another clinician or service, I can discuss alternative options with you.
-
No. You don't need a referral to see a psychologist privately.
If you'd like to claim a Medicare rebate, you'll need an eligible referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, or an eligible referral from a psychiatrist.
-
Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to learn more about you, what has brought you to therapy and what you'd like to work towards.
There's no expectation that you'll have everything figured out beforehand. We'll take the time to explore your circumstances and begin developing a shared understanding of what might be helpful.
-
Individual psychology appointments are 50 minutes.
-
This depends on your individual circumstances and goals. Some people benefit from weekly or fortnightly sessions, while others prefer a different frequency.
We'll discuss what is clinically appropriate and review this together as therapy progresses.
-
Fees for individual 50-minute psychology appointments will be confirmed before booking.
Eligible clients may be able to claim a Medicare rebate with an appropriate referral. Private health insurance rebates may also be available depending on your policy.
-
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice incur a fee of 50% of the appointment cost. Cancellations within 24 hours, or missed appointments, incur the full appointment fee.
Cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates.
-
Yes. Confidentiality is an important part of psychological therapy, and your personal information is handled in accordance with professional and legal obligations.
There are some limits to confidentiality, including certain legal requirements and circumstances involving serious safety concerns. I'll explain these as part of the informed consent process before therapy begins.
